A magnificent large leaf tippy Yunnan with the characteristic sweetness of black Yunnan teas. Yunnan Gold black tea (also known as Dian Hong) is easily identified by its abundance of soft golden tips and savoury cocoa and black pepper flavours. This artisan tea hails from the Yunnan province of China, the birthplace of tea itself. Our high-grade Yunnan Gold is milk chocolate-creamy and sweet with pleasant pepper notes. The flavour becomes earthier and more layered as it cools. Soft rounded cup silky and perfect. Makes a fabulous breakfast tea!

Gold star

I'm enjoying this tea, the bright savoury (possibly umami) flavour is balanced by a little fruity sweetness and overall it's an excellent tea with a refreshing lightness.

Best tea, great supplier

I love this tea! It seems to me to be the perfect balance of flavours and comes in at a good price, particularly if you commit to buying a decent amount up front. I sampled about 50 black teas before settling on Yunnan Imperial. Tippy Yunnan has the edge in terms of flavour but it getting on for twice the price so this is my staple. I couldn't live without it now. My previous supplier ran out and so searching around I found Highteas who are better. They are friendly, flexible and quick. All good.

Lovely

A complex tea with strong flavour. Good with milk and homemade scones
