Our Darjeeling first flush loose leaf tea from Tukdah Estate is a bright, elegant Himalayan spring tea with glowing golden-amber liquor, vivid muscatel character and a clean, refined finish. Hand-plucked from the first growth of the season and graded TGFOP, it offers delicate nuttiness, subtle sandalwood notes and the fresh, lifted complexity that makes fine first flush Darjeeling so sought after.
Darjeeling First Flush Loose Leaf Tea from Tukdah Estate
Tukdah Estate sits in the dramatic Teesta River valley, high in the Darjeeling hills, where mist, altitude and steep mountain slopes create exceptional conditions for distinctive loose leaf tea.
This single-estate TGFOP first flush captures the very first spring growth after winter dormancy. The result is a lighter, more aromatic Darjeeling black tea with remarkable brightness and clarity in the cup.
A Fine Spring Harvest with Vivid Muscatel Character
First flush Darjeeling is prized for its freshness, delicacy and lively aromatic lift. In Tukdah’s version, that character is especially expressive.
The flavour opens with clear muscatel fruitiness, followed by a gentle nuttiness and a whisper of sandalwood. The finish is clean, almost crystalline, with a natural sweetness that lingers beautifully.
TGFOP Darjeeling with Golden-Tipped Leaf
The TGFOP grade, or Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe, reflects a carefully selected orthodox leaf with fine golden tips and elegant structure.
Because first flush Darjeeling is more lightly oxidised than fuller, later-season black teas, it produces a brighter liquor and a more lifted flavour profile than a deeper Assam or second flush Darjeeling.

Best Enjoyed Without Milk
This Darjeeling first flush loose leaf tea is best savoured plain. Milk would soften the very brightness and delicate aromatic detail that make it special.
It is an excellent afternoon tea for those who appreciate refined Himalayan cups, especially served in a glass or white cup where the pale golden liquor can be fully admired.
How to Brew Tukdah First Flush Darjeeling
Use water cooled slightly after boiling, ideally around 85°C to 90°C. Add one teaspoon per cup and steep for around 3 minutes.
For an even lighter and brighter cup, reduce the brewing time slightly. Avoid over-steeping, as this can obscure the more delicate muscatel and floral notes.
A second infusion is well worth trying, producing a softer, more floral cup.
