Our Russian Earl Grey loose leaf tea is a bold, citrus-bright black tea blend scented with bergamot and layered with orange peel, lemongrass and blue cornflower petals. Fuller and more expressive than a classic Earl Grey, it delivers warm amber liquor, lively orange lift and a smooth, aromatic finish — delicious with lemon and honey, or with milk for a softer cup.
Russian Earl Grey Loose Leaf Tea with Orange and Lemongrass
Russian Earl Grey is a more citrus-forward interpretation of the traditional Earl Grey style. A rich black tea base carries the familiar floral brightness of bergamot, while dried orange peel and lemongrass bring extra freshness, sweetness and aromatic lift.
The result is vivid and inviting: recognisably Earl Grey, but with a warmer, sunnier character and a more layered finish.
Bright Bergamot, Sweet Orange and a Mellow Finish
In the cup, this Russian Earl Grey loose leaf tea brews to a deep warm amber with a fragrance that rises immediately from the pot. Bergamot leads, followed by the softer sweetness of orange peel and a gentle herbal citrus note from the lemongrass.
Blue cornflower petals add visual beauty to the dry leaf, while the flavour remains bold, bright and beautifully balanced from first sip to last.
A More Expressive Earl Grey Blend
This is an excellent choice for Earl Grey drinkers who enjoy the classic bergamot note but want something with greater citrus depth and a slightly more distinctive personality.
It feels generous without becoming heavy, and aromatic without tipping into sharpness — a tea that works especially well in the afternoon when a lively black tea is called for.

Lovely in the Russian Style or with Milk
Served with a thin slice of lemon and a little honey, this blend takes on a bright, warming character that suits its Russian inspiration beautifully.
It also takes milk well, producing a softer and more familiar Earl Grey-style cup while still retaining the sweeter citrus note from the orange peel.
How to Brew Russian Earl Grey Loose Leaf Tea
Use freshly boiled water at 95°C to 100°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
For a stronger cup, add a little more leaf rather than extending the brew time too far, as a longer infusion can make the bergamot feel sharper.
For iced tea, brew double strength, allow to cool slightly, then pour over ice.
Ingredients
Black tea, orange peel, lemongrass, blue cornflower petals, natural bergamot flavouring.
