Decaffeinated loose leaf green tea rarely comes with this much flavour. This mild Chinese Sencha with strawberry pieces offers all the gentle, grassy character of a quality green tea alongside the natural sweetness of real fruit — and without the caffeine. The result is a cup you can enjoy at any time of day, from a quiet morning to a calm evening wind-down.
Chinese Sencha is made from Camellia sinensis leaves processed using the Japanese-style steaming method. After harvesting, the fresh leaves are steamed rapidly to halt oxidation, preserving their bright green colour and clean, slightly grassy profile. They are then rolled into slender, needle-like shapes and carefully dried — a process that locks in the leaf's natural flavour and gives the tea its elegant appearance in the cup. The decaffeination here uses pressurised CO2, which draws caffeine from the leaf while retaining its flavour compounds and a good proportion of its natural antioxidants. It is a far gentler approach than solvent-based methods, and the quality of the finished tea reflects that care.
Bright freeze-dried strawberry pieces complete the blend, adding a natural, sun-ripened sweetness that works beautifully with the mellow Sencha base. The cup is pale golden-green in colour, clean and fresh on the palate, with a soft fruitiness that lingers gently on the finish. It is smooth enough to enjoy without milk or sugar and light enough to give a second infusion with the same leaves.
This blend is equally well suited to cold brewing. Steep the leaves in cold water overnight and serve over ice for a naturally fruity, effortlessly refreshing summer drink that needs nothing added to it.

Ingredients: Decaffeinated green tea (Sencha), freeze-dried strawberry pieces.
Brewing Note: This Sencha is mild and benefits from careful temperature control. Use water at around 70 to 75°C — either by letting freshly boiled water cool for five minutes, or by blending boiling and cold water — and steep for two to three minutes. Hotter water or a longer steep can draw out a slight bitterness from the green tea, so a little patience with the temperature is well worthwhile. The leaves will give a pleasant second infusion: pour water over them immediately after the first for a cup that is slightly lighter and softer. For cold brewing, add a heaped teaspoon of leaves to a glass or jug of cold water, cover and leave overnight in the fridge. The result the next morning is a naturally fruity, clean iced tea that needs no sweetening.
