Our Assam loose leaf black tea from Panitola Estate is a refined FTGFOP1 black tea with striking golden-tipped leaves, gentle malt and a smooth, aromatic finish. Softer and more elegant than many Assams, it offers subtle spice, attractive depth and real single-estate character — an excellent choice for tea drinkers who want Assam richness with a little more finesse.
Assam Loose Leaf Black Tea from Panitola Estate
Panitola is one of Upper Assam’s most historic tea gardens, located in the Tinsukia district and closely associated with the celebrated P-126 clone, a varietal highly prized for orthodox Assam black tea.
This FTGFOP1 tea carries that heritage into the cup. It is carefully made, distinctive in appearance and notably more refined than the heavier, more robust Assam styles often used for breakfast blends.
Golden Tips and a Striking Pine Needle Leaf
The dry leaf is one of Panitola’s great pleasures. Long, even and pine needle-shaped, it is scattered with bright golden tips that immediately mark it out as something special.
This attractive leaf style reflects careful orthodox processing and gives the tea a visual distinction that matches its more nuanced flavour profile.
Smooth, Aromatic and Gently Malty
In the cup, Panitola FTGFOP1 is medium to full in body, with a soft malty warmth rather than outright heaviness. A subtle spice note adds character, while the finish remains clean and rounded.
It is an Assam with poise: satisfying enough for those who enjoy black tea with depth, yet elegant enough to savour without milk.

A More Refined Expression of Assam
Panitola is a rewarding choice for drinkers who appreciate Assam, but sometimes want a cup with more aroma and less brute strength. Its balance makes it especially well suited to mid-morning or afternoon drinking.
Taken black, its softer structure and gentle spice show most clearly. With a touch of milk, the malt deepens and the cup becomes rounder and more warming.
How to Brew Assam Panitola FTGFOP1
Use freshly boiled water at 100°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes for a lighter, more aromatic cup, or extend to 5 minutes for greater body and depth.
The long leaves benefit from a little patience as they unfurl. Enjoy black for the clearest expression of the tea, or add a small amount of milk for a fuller, more traditional Assam style.
