Our Assam second flush loose leaf tea from Gingia Estate is a powerful, golden-tipped TGFOP1 black tea with deep amber liquor, rich malty depth and a full, satisfying finish. Grown on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River, it delivers the bold body, natural pungency and treacle-like richness that make fine second flush Assam so sought after — outstanding with milk, yet impressive enough to drink black.
Assam Second Flush Loose Leaf Tea from Gingia Estate
Gingia Estate is one of Assam’s most respected orthodox tea gardens, situated on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River. This single-estate TGFOP1 second flush reflects the garden’s reputation for producing richly flavoured Assams with exceptional depth and structure.
The summer second flush harvest is where Assam black tea reaches its fullest expression, and Gingia delivers that style with confidence: strong, malty, generously tipped and deeply satisfying.
Rich Malt, Golden Tips and Serious Depth
In the cup, this Assam second flush loose leaf tea pours a deep burnished amber with impressive body and concentration. The flavour is boldly malty, with a juicy, almost treacle-like richness, firm tannin structure and a clean, powerful finish.
There is real weight here, but also quality and balance. It is the kind of Assam that makes an immediate impression and continues to reward attention as the cup develops.
TGFOP1 Grade from a Celebrated Assam Garden
The TGFOP1 grade, or Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe First Grade, indicates a carefully made orthodox leaf with a generous proportion of golden tips.
Those fine buds add visual appeal and help bring extra refinement to what is otherwise a robust, full-bodied tea. Gingia’s second flush leaf is prized for precisely this combination of strength, richness and polish.

Exceptional with Milk, Excellent Black
This tea takes milk magnificently. A splash softens the tannin, rounds the malt and turns the cup into a deeply satisfying breakfast or strong afternoon brew.
It is also rewarding black, particularly with a slightly shorter infusion, when the tea’s brightness and golden-tipped quality come through more clearly.
How to Brew Gingia Estate TGFOP1 Assam
Use freshly boiled water at 100°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup, or around 2 to 3g per 200ml. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes for a rich, full-bodied result.
For a stronger, darker cup, extend to around 5 minutes. If drinking black, a shorter 2 to 3-minute brew will keep the cup brighter and less astringent.
Use freshly drawn water where possible and avoid repeatedly reboiled water, which can make a fine Assam taste flatter.

Good flavour, typically malty, this one has a bit of fruitiness too
I am not a tea aficionado. I cannot detect the cucumber undertones or diffientiate between the flowery tastes But I always enjoy the tea.
