Our Breakfast loose leaf black tea Manhattan Breakfast is a bold, beautifully layered six-origin blend created for mornings that deserve a proper cup. Second flush Assam, Kenyan, South Indian, Dimbula Ceylon, Keemun and Yunnan black teas come together in a deep, coppery brew with full malty body, bright aromatic lift and a smooth, rounded finish — excellent black, and outstanding with milk.

Breakfast Loose Leaf Black Tea with Six Distinct Origins

Manhattan Breakfast Tea is a more ambitious take on the classic morning blend. Instead of relying on one or two familiar base teas, it combines six carefully chosen origins, each contributing something different to the cup.

The result is a breakfast tea with real depth: rich enough to feel substantial first thing in the morning, yet refined enough to reward slower drinking when you want to notice the details.

Assam Strength, Kenyan Brightness and Ceylon Lift

Second flush Assam provides the blend’s bold, malty backbone and gives it the reassuring strength expected from a proper breakfast tea. Kenyan black tea adds coppery brightness and a subtle floral lift.

South Indian tea contributes a lively fruit edge, while Dimbula Ceylon brings a brisk, clean clarity that stops the cup from becoming too heavy. Together, these teas give Manhattan Breakfast its balance and energy.

Keemun Depth and Yunnan Sweetness

The Chinese teas are what make this blend especially distinctive. Keemun adds an oaky, burgundy depth and a smoother darker note beneath the brighter teas.

Yunnan rounds the finish with a gentle natural sweetness, bringing cohesion to the blend and giving the cup a more polished, complete feel.

A Proper Morning Tea with Real Complexity

This breakfast loose leaf black tea is unapologetically robust, making it an excellent choice for early mornings, breakfast tables and anyone who prefers a cup with genuine presence.

With milk, it becomes smooth, full and deeply satisfying. Taken black, the individual layers of the blend become clearer, from the brighter Kenyan and Ceylon notes to the darker richness of Keemun and Assam.

How to Brew Manhattan Breakfast Tea

Use freshly boiled water at 100°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.

Choose 3 minutes for a brighter cup with more floral and brisk notes from the Kenyan and Ceylon teas. Brew for 4 minutes for fuller Assam malt and greater depth from the Keemun.

Add milk after brewing if desired. The blend has more than enough body to hold its character beautifully.

Lovely tea

We love this tea. It has a great flavour without leaving a bitter tannin taste in the mouth. Now a firm house favourite

Great taste

I've tried so many different types of breakfast tea and this is by far the best. It has a real earthy, rich and full flavour. No other tea comes close in my opinion. The price kind if suggests it's a cut above the rest
