Darjeeling Castleton 2nd Flush Loose Leaf Tea from a Legendary Estate
Castleton Estate is one of Darjeeling’s most respected gardens, long associated with premium second flush teas of exceptional aromatic character. Specialist retailers consistently describe Castleton second flush as elegant, soft, bright and muscatel-led, with a clear amber cup and carefully made tipped leaf.
This TGFOP1 selection captures that reputation beautifully, delivering a tea with genuine estate identity and the depth expected from a fine summer Darjeeling.
Muscatel Sweetness, Floral Lift and Stone-Fruit Depth
In the cup, this Darjeeling Castleton 2nd Flush loose leaf tea brews to a bright, glowing amber infusion with excellent clarity. The flavour opens with classic muscatel character, followed by soft floral notes, gentle stone-fruit sweetness and a refined finish that lingers without heaviness.
It is expressive but composed, with enough aromatic detail to reward slow drinking and enough smoothness to remain beautifully balanced from first sip to last.
TGFOP1 Second Flush Darjeeling with Fine Tips
The TGFOP1 grade indicates a carefully selected orthodox leaf with visible golden and silvery tips. Similar Castleton listings place particular emphasis on the well-made leaf, bright amber liquor and polished second flush character, all hallmarks of a high-quality estate Darjeeling.
This is a tea for drinkers who want Darjeeling in its purest and most celebrated form: fragrant, muscatel-rich and best left unadorned.

A Fine Afternoon Darjeeling to Savour Slowly
Darjeeling Castleton 2nd Flush is especially rewarding as an afternoon tea, when its layered aroma and elegant fruit notes can be appreciated without distraction. It is best served plain, allowing the muscatel sweetness and bright estate character to remain clear.
For Darjeeling enthusiasts, Castleton remains one of the benchmark names in the category, and this tea shows exactly why.
How to Brew Darjeeling Castleton 2nd Flush
Use water at around 90°C to 95°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
A 3-minute brew gives the clearest muscatel lift and a lighter, more floral cup. A 4-minute infusion develops fuller body and deeper fruit character.
Serve without milk or sugar to preserve the tea’s natural elegance. A second infusion is also worth trying with a slightly longer steep.

Great Darleejing, very balanced with flavours of orange blossom, slightly smokey finish. Lacks compexity in a hot brew.
This is much better as a cold brew, I get orange blossom, passion fruit and guava, stunning really, only thing it lacks is a woody maltiness but the top notes are great.
Lovely subtle taste
Please keep up the good work. Consistency is everything, and is not easy to deliver. Quality teas mean a lot to me: I speak from experience, having spent a lifetime on the Tea Gardens in Assam and a lot of time in Darjeeling, I know the industry well.
A cup of tea to sit and enjoy - delicious.
