Our Darjeeling second flush loose leaf tea from Mim Estate is a beautifully expressive SFTGFOP1 black tea with warm amber liquor, rich muscatel depth and a long, sweetly aromatic finish. Grown high in the Darjeeling hills on Chinese Jat cultivar bushes, it offers notes of muscat grape, dried fruit and gentle nuttiness — a premium single-estate tea best savoured slowly and without milk.
Darjeeling Second Flush Loose Leaf Tea from Mim Estate
Mim Estate is a distinguished Darjeeling garden near Sukhiapokhri, set at around 5,000 feet in the Eastern Himalayas. Its high elevation, cool mountain air and Chinese Jat tea bushes help produce teas with fragrance, complexity and the prized muscatel character associated with fine second flush Darjeeling.
This single-estate SFTGFOP1 is a superb example of the style: fuller and more rounded than first flush, yet still elegant, lifted and beautifully refined.
Rich Muscatel Character with Dried Fruit and Nutty Depth
In the cup, this Darjeeling second flush loose leaf tea brews to a bright warm amber liquor with a fragrance that rises clearly from the glass. The flavour is layered and expressive, led by sweet muscat grape notes and followed by dried fruit, gentle nuttiness and a smooth, lingering finish.
It has genuine body, but never feels heavy. The complexity is what makes it special — a tea that continues to reveal more as the cup cools.
SFTGFOP1 Grade from a Celebrated Darjeeling Garden
The SFTGFOP1 grade, or Special Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe First Grade, represents a very high standard of orthodox Darjeeling leaf, with fine tips and careful manufacture.
In a second flush tea, this quality of leaf gives a particularly rewarding balance of aromatic lift, fuller body and natural sweetness. Mim Estate uses that potential beautifully.

Best Enjoyed Without Milk
This is a tea to savour plain. Milk would soften the distinctive muscatel quality and mute the more delicate dried fruit and nutty notes that give Mim Estate its appeal.
It is especially well suited to an unhurried afternoon or early evening cup, when its full aromatic complexity can be appreciated without distraction.
How to Brew Mim Estate Second Flush Darjeeling
Use freshly drawn water cooled slightly after boiling, ideally around 95°C. Add approximately 2.5g of leaf per 250ml and steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
A 3-minute brew keeps the cup brighter and more lifted. A 4-minute infusion brings out greater body, fruit depth and rounded second flush richness.
Serve without milk for the clearest expression of the tea.
