Our Formosa oolong loose leaf tea Fancy Silvertip is a rare, beautifully refined Taiwanese tea made from young leaves and delicate downy buds. Smooth, mellow and softly aromatic, it brews to a pale golden cup with gentle floral sweetness, light nuttiness and a clean lingering finish — an elegant oolong to savour slowly, best enjoyed without milk.
Formosa Oolong Loose Leaf Tea with Silvery Buds
Formosa Fancy Oolong Silvertip is a premium Taiwanese oolong chosen for its delicacy, balance and quiet complexity. Made from the youngest shoots and just-unfurling buds, it offers a more graceful and nuanced cup than many stronger, more heavily oxidised oolongs.
The tea sits beautifully between green and black tea in style: fresher and more floral than a black tea, yet warmer and more rounded than a green.
Delicate Floral Sweetness with Smooth Mellow Depth
In the cup, this Formosa oolong loose leaf tea brews to a softly luminous pale gold. The aroma is mild and refined, while the flavour develops gradually with each sip.
Expect gentle natural sweetness, subtle floral notes and a light nuttiness that rounds the cup beautifully. The finish is clean, smooth and lingering, with no harshness or heavy astringency.
Fancy Silvertip Grade for a More Elegant Oolong
The silvertip style comes from careful plucking of young leaves and tender buds still showing fine pale down. This gives the dry leaf its attractive appearance and contributes to the tea’s lighter, more refined flavour.
Partially oxidised to create a balanced oolong character, the leaf retains freshness while gaining mellow depth and a softer, more developed body.

A Tea for Slow, Unhurried Drinking
This is an oolong for quieter moments. It is best suited to unhurried afternoons, when its subtle sweetness and gradually unfolding character can be fully appreciated.
Drink it plain and allow the tea to open across repeated infusions. Each brew becomes a little softer and rounder, revealing a slightly different side of the leaf.
How to Brew Formosa Fancy Oolong Silvertip
Use water at around 85°C to 90°C and add one teaspoon per cup. Steep for 2 to 3 minutes.
A 2-minute brew keeps the cup especially light and floral. A 3-minute infusion gives a little more body and mellow depth.
The leaves can be infused two or three times, with the second steep often showing a softer, sweeter side of the tea.
