Our French Earl Grey loose leaf tea with Blue Mallow Flowers is a refined black tea blend of high-grown Ceylon, fragrant bergamot and delicate blue mallow petals. Bright, citrusy and beautifully balanced, it brews to a clear amber cup with smooth black tea structure, elegant floral detail and a clean, polished finish — lovely enjoyed plain, with lemon or served over ice.

French Earl Grey Loose Leaf Tea with Blue Mallow Flowers

French Earl Grey is a more decorative and softly floral interpretation of the classic bergamot black tea. This blend combines bright Ceylon black tea with aromatic bergamot and blue mallow petals, creating a cup that feels fresh, elegant and distinctly composed.

It is lighter and more polished than a heavier breakfast-style Earl Grey, making it especially appealing for slow mornings, afternoon pauses or any moment when a fragrant black tea feels just right.

Bright Ceylon Black Tea with Fragrant Bergamot

In the cup, this French Earl Grey loose leaf tea pours a bright, clear amber with a smooth and inviting character. The bergamot provides the familiar citrus lift, clean and aromatic without becoming sharp.

The high-grown Ceylon base gives the blend clarity and poise, while the blue mallow petals add a subtle floral softness and striking visual beauty to the dry leaf.

A Refined Earl Grey with Floral Elegance

This is an Earl Grey for those who enjoy balance. The citrus is present and expressive, but not overpowering. The floral note is gentle, never perfumed. The tea remains structured, smooth and highly drinkable from first sip to last.

It is a beautifully composed everyday blend that feels just a little more special than a standard Earl Grey.

  • Visual detail: Blue mallow petals

Best Enjoyed Plain or with Lemon

French Earl Grey with Blue Mallow Flowers is particularly good without milk, allowing the bergamot and delicate floral lift to come through cleanly. A thin slice of lemon makes a natural addition, adding extra freshness to the cup.

It also works beautifully as an iced tea. Brewed slightly stronger and poured over ice, it becomes bright, aromatic and genuinely refreshing.

How to Brew French Earl Grey with Blue Mallow Flowers

Use water that has just come off the boil, around 90°C to 95°C. Add one heaped teaspoon per cup and steep for 3 to 4 minutes.

A 3-minute brew gives a lighter, brighter cup with the bergamot at its freshest. A 4-minute infusion brings out slightly more body from the Ceylon base.

For iced tea, brew double strength, allow to cool, then pour over ice.

Ingredients

Black tea, Calabrian bergamot flavour, blue mallow petals.

Perfect

Perfect example of an original combination of earl grey and blue mallow flowers. Very palatable.

Smells amazing, but lacks any real taste

As per title this tea smells superb dry, even smells ok with water on it, but massively lacks taste. I dont understand how it can smell so good but taste bland. We tried this in an attempt to find an alternative for the now UK unavailable T2 french early grey but will have to keep looking. Great service though High Teas, thank you for the quick delivery.

French Earl Grey

Arrived really quickly. Not opened yet - just finishing off other tea first. Price is the best I could find. Can’t wait to try it out!

French earl grey

This reminds me of a certain commonly sold brand name earl grey, but much nicer! This is now my standard tea.

Use freshly boiled water (95–100°C) and steep 1 teaspoon of tea for 3–5 minutes, depending on your preferred strength. It pairs well with milk due to its malty character.
