Our Fruit loose leaf tea blend Fruits of Samarkand is a rich, aromatic combination of black tea, green tea, elderberry, currants, hibiscus, jasmine and calendula petals. Deeply fruity yet elegantly floral, it brews to a jewel-toned ruby cup with berry sweetness, a lively hibiscus tang and a softly perfumed finish — a distinctive blend to enjoy hot or served over ice.
Fruit Loose Leaf Tea Blend with Elderberry, Currants and Hibiscus
Fruits of Samarkand is a colourful tea blend inspired by the rich exchange of fruits, flowers and flavours once carried along the Silk Road. It brings together black and green teas with dark berries, vivid hibiscus and delicate floral notes for a cup that feels layered, generous and memorable.
The black tea adds body, while the green tea brings lightness and freshness. Together, they create a balanced foundation for the fruit and petals woven through the blend.
Rich Berry Flavour with a Floral Finish
Elderberry pieces contribute deep, dark fruit character, while currants add a sweeter berry note with a gently tart edge. Hibiscus petals intensify the ruby colour and give the cup a bright, refreshing lift.
Jasmine adds a soft floral fragrance, and calendula petals round the blend with a light golden warmth. The result is fruity and vivid, but also elegant and surprisingly refined.
A More Characterful Alternative to a Standard Fruit Tea
Because this is made with both black and green tea, Fruits of Samarkand has more structure and tea presence than a purely herbal fruit infusion. It offers juicy berry flavour, but with enough depth to satisfy tea drinkers who want something more substantial.
It is an excellent choice for afternoon drinking, especially when you want a flavoured tea that feels lively, aromatic and a little unusual.

Delicious Hot or as a Fruity Iced Tea
Served hot, this fruit loose leaf tea blend is rich, aromatic and gently uplifting, with the berries and petals opening beautifully in the cup.
It also makes an excellent iced tea. Brewed a little stronger and poured over ice, it becomes a vivid, deeply flavoured cold drink with a crisp hibiscus edge and a fragrant floral finish. A small amount of honey can be added if you prefer a sweeter cup.
How to Brew Fruits of Samarkand Tea
Use freshly boiled water and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 4 to 6 minutes.
The blend deepens noticeably as it brews. A shorter infusion keeps it lighter and more tea-led, while a longer steep brings out more colour and fruit depth from the hibiscus and elderberry.
Serve without milk. For iced tea, brew double strength, pour over ice and allow to cool.
