Our Kandy loose leaf black tea from Sylvakandy Estate is a beautifully balanced single-estate Ceylon Orange Pekoe with bright golden liquor, smooth medium body and a richly floral character. Softer and more aromatic than many Sri Lankan black teas, it offers warm, rounded depth in the cup — elegant enough to enjoy black, yet full enough to take a splash of milk with ease.
Kandy Loose Leaf Black Tea from Sylvakandy Estate
Sylvakandy Estate lies in Sri Lanka’s Central Province, in the celebrated Kandy tea-growing region. This single-estate Orange Pekoe black tea is grown at mid elevation, where the cup develops a pleasing balance of brightness, body and aromatic depth.
The result is a Ceylon tea with real charm: expressive without being sharp, and smooth enough to become an easy everyday favourite for those who enjoy a more refined black tea.
Floral, Rounded and Gently Full-Bodied
In the cup, this Kandy loose leaf black tea brews to a clear golden liquor with a satisfying medium-thick body. The aroma is inviting and floral, leading into a warm, rounded flavour that feels both lively and composed.
Compared with brisker high-grown Ceylons, Sylvakandy OP is softer and more generous in style. Its floral quality is pronounced but never perfumed, and the finish remains smooth and balanced.
Orange Pekoe Leaf for a More Elegant Infusion
The OP grade, or Orange Pekoe, uses larger leaves than broken grades, allowing the flavour to develop more gradually in the pot. That slower infusion helps produce a cup with better clarity, poise and structure.
This is a well-chosen expression of the estate: bright in appearance, floral in character and easy to appreciate whether you are familiar with Ceylon teas or exploring them more deeply.

A Versatile Ceylon Tea for Any Time of Day
This tea is refined enough for unhurried black drinking, where its floral lift and clean finish come through most clearly. It is equally pleasing with a little milk, which softens the cup and draws out its warmer, fuller side.
That versatility makes Sylvakandy Estate OP a strong choice for mornings, afternoons or any point in the day when you want a black tea with elegance and substance.
How to Brew Sylvakandy Estate OP
Use freshly boiled water at 100°C and add around 2 to 2.5g of leaf per cup, or approximately one generous teaspoon. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes for a bright, lively infusion.
For a fuller and more rounded cup, extend the brew to around 5 minutes. Add a small splash of milk if preferred, though the tea is very rewarding taken black.
Ingredients
Black tea, Camellia sinensis.
