Our Keemun loose leaf black tea Hao Ya ‘B’ is a smooth, quietly elegant Chinese black tea with dark copper liquor, warm cocoa depth and a softly toasty finish. Made in Qimen County from a fine late-spring leaf selection, it offers gentle stone-fruit sweetness, subtle floral lift and very low bitterness — a rewarding afternoon tea to enjoy black or with a small splash of milk.
Keemun Loose Leaf Black Tea from Qimen County
Keemun Hao Ya ‘B’ is a refined Chinese black tea from Anhui Province, crafted for those who appreciate warmth, smoothness and aromatic depth over sheer strength. It sits just below the prized Hao Ya ‘A’ grade, using the next-finest tip selection to create a cup that is still highly characterful, but a little softer and more approachable.
The leaf is small, dark and wiry, producing a beautifully clear dark copper infusion with a polished, composed feel in the cup.
Toasty, Cocoa-Warm and Gently Fruited
In the cup, this Keemun loose leaf black tea is mellow and satisfying. A soft cocoa warmth and gentle toastiness lead the flavour, followed by subtle stone-fruit sweetness and a light floral note.
The finish is rounded and lingering, with none of the rough bitterness that can appear in less carefully made black teas. It is full of character, but never demanding.
A More Approachable Hao Ya Style
Hao Ya ‘B’ offers a slightly gentler expression of fine Keemun than the more concentrated A grade. Its smaller, evenly processed leaf gives a consistent infusion, while the flavour remains smooth, warm and naturally sweet.
For tea drinkers who enjoy Chinese black tea with a little depth, a touch of elegance and excellent everyday versatility, this is a very satisfying choice.

A Quietly Rewarding Afternoon Tea
Keemun Hao Ya ‘B’ is particularly well suited to an unhurried afternoon cup. It has enough depth to feel substantial, yet its low astringency and rounded finish make it easy to return to again and again.
Served black, its cocoa and stone-fruit notes come through most clearly. A small amount of milk creates a softer, more mellow cup without obscuring its character.
How to Brew Keemun Hao Ya ‘B’
Use water cooled slightly after boiling, ideally around 90°C to 95°C. Add one heaped teaspoon per cup and steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
A 3-minute infusion gives a lighter, more floral cup. A 4-minute brew brings out fuller toasty warmth and a little more body.
Avoid over-steeping, which can dull the tea’s natural sweetness. A second infusion is worth trying with a slightly longer brew time.
