Our Lapsang Souchong loose leaf tea Bohea Black Dragon is a bold, pine-smoked Chinese black tea with a deep burnished red liquor, full body and a long, warming finish. Rich, resinous and unmistakably smoky, it delivers a sharper, more intense smoke character than gentler Lapsang styles — a memorable tea for slow mornings, fireside evenings or savoury food pairings.
Lapsang Souchong Loose Leaf Tea with Traditional Pine Smoke
Bohea Lapsang Souchong Black Dragon is a powerful smoked black tea from the Wuyi tradition, made from large, open leaves that readily absorb the character of pinewood smoke. The result is a tea with unmistakable presence: dark in the leaf, bold in aroma and deeply warming in the cup.
This is a tea for those who enjoy their black tea with real personality — full-bodied, smoky and satisfyingly distinctive from the very first pour.
Deep Smoke, Rich Body and Spiced Warmth
In the cup, this Lapsang Souchong loose leaf tea brews to a deep red-amber liquor with an aromatic, resinous fragrance. The smoke is confident and expressive, bringing a sharp, spicy edge that sits over the naturally rich body of the tea beneath.
The finish is long and warming, lingering pleasantly after the cup is finished and making this an especially rewarding choice for colder days or slower tea moments.
Bohea Black Dragon with a Bold Traditional Character
The larger, lower leaves used for this tea give it a broad, open appearance and allow the smoky character to develop deeply. Roasting on hot iron pans followed by traditional pine smoking creates a cup with layers of warmth and savoury depth.
It is a stronger, more forthright Lapsang style, ideal for tea drinkers who want the smoke to remain clearly present from aroma through to finish.

Bohea Black Dragon is especially well suited to slow mornings, colder evenings and moments when a more intense black tea feels right. It also pairs beautifully with savoury foods, mature cheese and smoked flavours.
Drink it plain for the clearest expression of the pine-smoked character, or add a little milk if you prefer a softer, rounder finish.
How to Brew Bohea Lapsang Souchong Black Dragon
Use water at around 95°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
A 3-minute brew gives a cleaner, slightly lighter smoke note. A 4-minute infusion develops fuller body and greater depth of pine character.
This tea takes a small splash of milk well, though it is especially distinctive served black.

Horribly pungent. I will try the milder version in a couple of weeks.
It could be "smokier" for my taste. Otherwise OK.
simply Fantastic
Lapsang Souchong is definitely an acquired taste but for me this tea ticks all the boxes it has a fantastic smoky taste.
