Our London breakfast loose leaf tea St Pauls is a bold, beautifully composed black tea blend of Assam, Ceylon and Kenyan teas, finished with a subtle touch of bergamot for extra lift. Rich, malty and full-bodied, it is made for the first proper cup of the day — excellent with milk, yet bright and characterful enough to enjoy black.

London Breakfast Loose Leaf Tea with a Hint of Bergamot

St Pauls is a refined take on the classic breakfast blend, inspired by London’s long-standing tea tradition. Assam, Ceylon and Kenyan black teas create a strong, satisfying foundation, while a measured note of bergamot gives the cup a distinctive finish without turning it into an Earl Grey.

The result is a breakfast tea with real personality: robust, lively and more elegant than a standard morning blend.

Assam Body, Ceylon Brightness and Kenyan Strength

Assam provides deep malty richness and the reassuring weight expected of a true breakfast tea. Ceylon adds brightness and a clean, brisk edge, while Kenyan black tea contributes colour, structure and a lively lift in the cup.

Together, they create a full-bodied loose leaf morning tea that holds milk beautifully and remains balanced from first sip to last.

A Breakfast Blend with Subtle Earl Grey Sparkle

What makes St Pauls stand apart is its light touch of bergamot. The citrus note sits gently in the finish, brightening the malt and giving the blend a faint floral-citrus elegance.

It is enough to make the tea feel special, but never enough to dominate. This is still a proper breakfast blend first and foremost — just one with a more memorable signature.

At a Glance

  • Tea type: Flavoured loose leaf black tea blend

  • Tea origins: Assam, Ceylon and Kenya
  • Key note: Subtle bergamot finish
  • Liquor: Deep burnished amber
  • Best enjoyed: Especially good with milk, also rewarding black

Made for Mornings, Worth Returning to All Day

St Pauls is an excellent first cup of the morning, particularly for those who like breakfast tea with a generous splash of milk. The blend becomes smoother and rounder, while the bergamot remains pleasantly present.

Taken black, it is brighter and more aromatic, with the Ceylon and bergamot notes coming forward more clearly. That versatility makes it just as welcome later in the day.

How to Brew St Pauls London Breakfast Tea

Use freshly boiled water at 100°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.

A 3-minute brew gives a brighter, livelier cup. A 4-minute infusion draws out more malt and body, making it especially good with milk.

For a stronger tea, use a little more leaf rather than extending the brew time too far. Warming the teapot before brewing also helps produce a fuller cup.

Ingredients

Assam black tea, Ceylon black tea, Kenyan black tea, natural bergamot flavouring.
