Our Nepal loose leaf black tea from Maloom Estate is a beautifully refined Himalayan tea with delicate floral aroma, gentle muscatel depth and soft stone fruit notes. Hand-rolled in the orthodox style and graded FTGFOP1, it brews to a luminous bronze-gold cup with a smooth, elegant finish — an excellent choice for those who enjoy lighter, more aromatic black teas.
Nepal Loose Leaf Black Tea from Maloom Estate
Maloom Estate sits high in the Himalayan hills of eastern Nepal, at elevations between approximately 3,500 and 6,000 feet. These cool, high-altitude conditions help produce teas with fragrance, clarity and a more delicate character than heavier low-grown black teas.
Although the estate was established relatively recently, in 1993, its teas have earned attention for their refinement and distinctive Himalayan style. This FTGFOP1 black tea is a fine example.
FTGFOP1 Grade with Elegant Silver Tips
The grade FTGFOP1 stands for Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe, first grade. It indicates a high-quality orthodox leaf with carefully selected tips and a finer appearance in the dry tea.
The leaves are hand-picked and traditionally processed through withering, rolling, oxidation and drying. This preserves the tea’s aromatic qualities and helps create its smooth, poised character in the cup.
Floral, Lightly Muscatel and Smooth
Once brewed, Nepal Maloom opens into a clear bronze-gold infusion with a soft floral aroma. The taste is elegant and layered, with gentle muscatel notes, hints of stone fruit and a clean, rounded finish.
It has a notably smooth style, with less sharpness than many stronger black teas. That makes it especially appealing for slow drinking and for those who prefer black tea with finesse rather than brute strength.

A Refined Himalayan Black Tea
Nepal shares the same great mountain range as Darjeeling, and some of the finest Nepalese teas show a similarly elegant, high-grown character. Maloom FTGFOP1 has that same sense of lift and fragrance, while retaining a personality of its own.
It is ideal for a quiet morning cup or an unhurried afternoon tea when something more distinguished is called for.
How to Brew Nepal Maloom FTGFOP1
Use water just off the boil, around 95°C, and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes for a bright, aromatic infusion.
For a fuller cup, extend the steep to around 5 minutes. This tea remains smooth with a slightly longer brew, developing more body while keeping its delicate floral and muscatel character.
Serve without milk to appreciate its finer notes most clearly. A very small splash may be added if preferred.
Ingredients
Black tea, Camellia sinensis.

I actually bought three Nepalese teas, my first order with the company. Nepalese tea has long been my favourite Asia tea and these are right up there with the best....
Delicious! No milk, no sugar. Light, fruity, and very satisfying.
Light golden colour, fruity flavours (slightly orangey), quite aromatic, used a heaped scoop full. Excellent tea, definitely worth a try.
with persisting hesperidinic complexes quite an amazing nepali tea thanks
Another great tea from Nepal
