Nuwara Eliya Loose Leaf Black Tea from Courtlodge Estate
Courtlodge Estate sits within Sri Lanka’s celebrated Nuwara Eliya tea region, an area known for high elevations, cool air and teas with remarkable brightness and clarity. Nuwara Eliya is one of the island’s best-known growing districts and is especially associated with refined, brisk high-grown Ceylon teas.
This Courtlodge Estate selection is made in the FBOP grade, or Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe, giving a quicker, more expressive infusion than many larger-leaf styles while retaining a touch of floral elegance.
Crisp, Brisk and Elegantly Floral
In the cup, this Nuwara Eliya loose leaf black tea brews to a bright coppery infusion with excellent clarity. The flavour is lively and crisp, with the characteristic briskness of high-grown Ceylon tea softened by a subtle floral note.
It is a tea with real lift and freshness rather than weight. The finish is clean and refined, making it especially appealing for those who enjoy black tea with elegance, brightness and a gently astringent edge.
A High-Grown Ceylon Tea with Real Definition
Courtlodge Estate FBOP is a fine choice for drinkers who want a Ceylon black tea that feels polished and origin-led. The high-grown style gives it an aromatic, brisk cup that stands apart from richer, maltier black teas such as Assam.
It is expressive without being heavy and particularly rewarding when brewed with care, making it a strong option for a mid-morning cup or a more refined afternoon black tea.

Best Enjoyed Black
This tea is especially rewarding served without milk, allowing its brightness, briskness and delicate floral qualities to show fully. It has a clean, refreshing finish that makes it feel lively rather than heavy.
A modest splash of milk also works if preferred, softening the sharper edge while still preserving the tea’s clear high-grown character.
How to Brew Courtlodge Estate FBOP
Use freshly drawn water at around 95°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
A shorter brew gives a lighter, more delicate cup. A full four minutes brings out more briskness and body. Because the FBOP leaf infuses relatively quickly, avoid over-steeping if you want to preserve its natural elegance.
