Our Rose loose leaf black tea Rose Congou Emperor is a beautifully refined Chinese black tea layered with rose petals for a smooth, naturally floral cup. Elegant rather than overpowering, it brews to a pale coppery amber infusion with gentle sweetness, graceful rose fragrance and a soft, composed finish — a tea to enjoy slowly in the afternoon or whenever a little extra elegance is called for.
Rose Loose Leaf Black Tea Scented with Rose Petals
Rose Congou Emperor is a classic Chinese scented tea made with real care. A fine black tea is layered repeatedly with rose petals during production, allowing the leaf to absorb a naturally floral character that feels fully integrated rather than simply added.
The result is a cup in which the black tea and rose sit in genuine balance: smooth, poised and quietly distinctive.
Smooth Black Tea with an Elegant Floral Finish
In the cup, this Rose loose leaf black tea pours a clear pale copper liquor with a soft amber glow. The flavour is rounded and gently sweet, with the rose note arriving gracefully through the finish.
It is floral without becoming perfumed, delicate without feeling thin and smooth enough to enjoy slowly with no additions at all.
A Traditional Chinese Congou-Style Scented Tea
The word Congou comes from gongfu, meaning skill and effort, and it suits this tea beautifully. The rose character is developed patiently through repeated scenting, giving the finished blend a more natural and elegant result than a heavily flavoured floral tea.
This makes Rose Congou Emperor an excellent choice for drinkers who enjoy scented teas, but prefer refinement over intensity.

A Beautiful Afternoon or Occasion Tea
Rose Congou Emperor is especially well suited to quiet afternoon drinking, special gatherings or moments when a more graceful tea feels right. It has charm without fuss and a fragrance that makes the cup feel instantly more considered.
Served black, the floral character is at its clearest. A small amount of milk may be added if preferred, though the rose is best appreciated plain.
How to Brew Rose Congou Emperor
Use freshly boiled water cooled slightly to around 95°C. Add one heaped teaspoon per cup and steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
A 3-minute brew keeps the cup lighter and more floral. A 5-minute infusion draws out more body and depth from the black tea base.
This blend also makes an elegant iced tea. Brew it double strength, pour over ice and allow it to cool for a softly floral cold serve.
Ingredients
Yunnan black tea, rose petals, flavouring.

Excellent as ever.
I've liked teas such as Rose Congou and Rose Pouchong for decades, and this one gets full marks from me. A clean taste, which a subtlen natural rose flavour that's distinct enough but not overdone. Works well without or with milk (I prefer oatmilk). Pleasant for sunny afternoons or special occasions.
