Our Silver Needle loose leaf white tea Bai Hao Yin Zhen is one of the most prized teas in the world, made entirely from tender silvery buds hand-plucked in Fujian Province, China. Delicate, naturally sweet and beautifully refined, it brews to a pale luminous gold with notes of dried apricot, soft melon and a gentle lingering finish — a rare tea to savour slowly and without distraction.
Silver Needle Loose Leaf White Tea from Fujian
Bai Hao Yin Zhen, better known as Silver Needle, is widely regarded as one of the finest white teas China produces. Made only from unopened spring buds of the Da Bai tea cultivar, it is a tea of remarkable purity, visual beauty and quiet complexity.
Each bud is hand-picked while still tightly closed and covered in fine silver-white hairs, giving the finished tea its distinctive appearance and its celebrated name.
Whole Silvery Buds with Exceptional Delicacy
This Silver Needle loose leaf white tea is made with minimal intervention. The buds are carefully withered and dried, preserving the natural sweetness and softness of the leaf without rolling or heavy processing.
That restraint is what makes the cup so elegant. The tea remains clear, pale and luminous, with a flavour that unfolds gradually rather than rushing forward.
Naturally Sweet with Apricot, Melon and Soft Woody Notes
In the cup, Bai Hao Yin Zhen offers a delicate, silky infusion with natural sweetness and gentle depth. Expect soft notes of dried apricot and ripe melon, supported by a faint woody or hay-like fragrance that lingers through the finish.
It is subtle without being faint, refined without feeling distant — a white tea that rewards attention and becomes more compelling the longer you sit with it.

A Tea to Savour Slowly
Silver Needle is best enjoyed without milk or sugar, allowing its natural sweetness and texture to come through fully. It suits quiet mornings, late afternoon pauses or any moment when you want a tea that feels genuinely special.
It is also one of the most beautiful teas to brew in glass, as the long buds slowly unfurl and settle in the water.
How to Brew Bai Hao Yin Zhen Silver Needle
Use water cooled to around 75°C to 80°C. Add two heaped teaspoons of buds per 250ml and steep for 4 to 5 minutes.
The buds are dense and need time to release their character, so do not rush the infusion. A clear glass cup or teapot is ideal if you would like to watch them open.
This tea will give two or three infusions, with the second often becoming even sweeter and more rounded.
Ingredients
White tea buds, Camellia sinensis.
