Our Spiced black tea Dammann Frères Thé Des Mille Collines is a bold, warming loose leaf blend of bright Rwandan black tea with ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, pink peppercorn and clove. Presented in a 100g tin, it offers a rich, aromatic cup with real depth — excellent served black, softened with milk or brewed directly in hot milk for a more indulgent spiced tea.

Spiced Black Tea with Rwandan Tea and Warming Spices

Thé Des Mille Collines takes its name from Rwanda, known as the Land of a Thousand Hills. Dammann Frères uses a full-bodied Rwandan black tea base, prized for its clean brightness, brisk strength and ability to carry spice with exceptional clarity.

Rather than becoming heavy or overly sweet, this blend stays lively and well defined. The Rwandan tea gives structure and lift, while the warming spices build a rich, satisfying flavour that makes this a particularly distinctive choice for lovers of chai-style black teas.

Bold Ginger, Cardamom and Cinnamon Character

The spice profile is layered and expressive. Ginger leads with a bright, warming edge, cardamom brings fragrant floral depth, and cinnamon adds mellow sweetness and roundness.

Pink peppercorn and clove give the finish a slow, aromatic heat that lingers pleasantly without overwhelming the tea. The result is a spiced black tea that feels vibrant, balanced and deeply comforting.

A Rich Loose Leaf Tea for Milk or Water Brewing

Brewed with hot water, Thé Des Mille Collines produces a deep amber infusion with clean black tea body and beautifully defined spice. A splash of milk softens the cup and brings out the sweeter cinnamon and cardamom notes.

For an even richer experience, the leaves can be infused directly in hot milk. This creates a fuller, more enveloping cup with a smooth texture and an almost dessert-like warmth — especially appealing on cold mornings or unhurried afternoons.

Dammann Frères Thé Des Mille Collines 100g Tin

This blend is presented in a 100g Dammann Frères tin, making it an attractive addition to the tea shelf and a thoughtful gift for anyone who enjoys aromatic black teas with spice.

It is a particularly rewarding tea for those who appreciate the comfort of chai-inspired blends but want something a little more refined and origin-led.

How to Brew Dammann Frères Thé Des Mille Collines

Use freshly boiled water cooled slightly to around 95°C. Add one heaped teaspoon per cup and steep for 4 to 5 minutes, extending slightly if you prefer a fuller spice character.

For milk brewing, gently heat milk to just below a simmer, add the leaves and allow them to infuse off the heat for 4 to 5 minutes before straining. This method draws out the warming sweetness of the cinnamon and cardamom beautifully.
