Eucalyptus has been prized for centuries by the Aboriginal peoples of Australia, who knew the blue gum tree as the fever tree and recognised its remarkable properties long before it reached the rest of the world. The dried leaves bring a clean, cooling freshness to this blend — a slightly resinous, almost forest-air quality that clears the senses and lifts the spirit. It is assertive without being sharp, and in this blend it is beautifully tempered by what surrounds it.

Brewing Note: Spiritual Balm brews best with freshly boiled water poured directly over the leaves. Cover the vessel while it steeps — eucalyptus releases fragrant volatile compounds that will dissipate into the air if left uncovered, and keeping the cup covered preserves much of what makes this blend so distinctive. Allow 5 to 7 minutes for a balanced cup, or up to 10 minutes if you prefer a deeper, more aromatic infusion. Strain promptly once the desired strength is reached. The blend is naturally sweet enough to enjoy without honey, though a small drizzle works beautifully if preferred. It is also excellent cold-brewed: steep for 5 minutes in boiling water, allow to cool, then pour over ice for a refreshing summer herbal.
