🍵 The Blend — Tregothnan's best-selling Classic British black tea, grown in Cornwall's unique microclimate, warmed with cinnamon and sweetened with estate-grown manuka

🍵 The Colour — A rich, deep amber cup with a spiced, gently sweet aroma that fills the room the moment hot water meets the pyramid bag

🍵 The Character — Bold and warming at the heart, with the gentle heat of cinnamon weaving through a naturally malty base and a soft, honeyed finish from the manuka

🍵 The Occasion — Made for festive mornings, slow winter afternoons, and gifting — equally at home beside a fire or wrapped beneath a Christmas tree

Tregothnan Christmas Spiced Tea is a genuinely rare thing: a festive spiced black tea with a provenance story that no other blend can match. The black tea at its heart is Tregothnan's own Classic blend — grown on the Tregothnan Estate in Cornwall, the only place in England where tea has ever been successfully cultivated. When the Boscawen family planted their first Camellia sinensis bushes in 1999, they were doing something no one in Britain had achieved commercially before. The tea first sold in 2005, and the Classic blend on which this Christmas edition is built has remained Tregothnan's best-selling tea ever since.

The estate sits in a uniquely sheltered microclimate near Truro, where a deep-sea creek runs seven miles inland, bringing coastal mist and relative warmth that allows the tea bushes to thrive in conditions that would not be possible elsewhere in the country. Camellia had already been grown at Tregothnan for over two centuries before the first tea plant was introduced, which tells you a great deal about why this particular pocket of Cornwall works so well.

To this distinguished base, Tregothnan has added two ingredients of their own: cinnamon, which brings a familiar festive warmth, and manuka — grown on the estate since the 1880s, when it was first introduced from New Zealand and became the first manuka outside its home country. The result is a Christmas spiced tea that is rooted in a real place and a real story, not simply a seasonal blend assembled from imported components. In the cup, the character is bold and comforting. The malty depth of the Cornish black tea carries the spice well, with the cinnamon adding warmth rather than sharpness, and the manuka lending a gently honeyed sweetness that rounds everything out.

This is also a tea that makes an exceptional gift. The fifteen pyramid bags are generously sized for a full, flavoursome brew, and the Tregothnan name carries considerable weight among those who take their tea seriously.

Since 2008, High Teas London has been one of the country's leading independent tea specialists, with over 350 teas and infusions — one of the largest collections in the country. Stocking Tregothnan's Christmas Spiced Tea is a reflection of that commitment to sharing teas with a genuine story behind them.

Ingredients: Black tea, cinnamon, manuka.

Brewing Note: Place one pyramid bag in a warmed mug and pour freshly boiled water over it — the larger pyramid format allows the tea to circulate freely, so there is no need to squeeze or agitate the bag. Steep for three to four minutes for a bright, spiced cup with warmth and depth. Leave it a little longer, towards five minutes, if you prefer a stronger, more robust brew. This tea is excellent black, where the manuka sweetness comes through most clearly, but it takes milk well if that is your preference. It also works beautifully as a base for a simple festive mulled tea: steep two bags in 600ml of hot water for four minutes, then add a slice of orange and a small piece of fresh ginger.
