Our Uva loose leaf black tea from Dyraaba Estate is a refined high-grown Ceylon OP1 with clear amber liquor, smooth medium body and the gently wine-like finish that makes seasonal Uva teas so distinctive. Harvested during the prized July to September quality period, it offers mellow depth, subtle floral lift and a clean, elegant cup — excellent taken black or softened with a splash of milk.
Uva Loose Leaf Black Tea from Dyraaba Estate
Dyraaba Estate lies in Sri Lanka’s celebrated Uva region, one of the island’s most distinctive high-grown tea areas. The estate’s OP1 leaf is harvested during the region’s key quality season, when the cup develops extra clarity, fragrance and depth.
This is a Ceylon black tea with refinement rather than brute strength: smooth, composed and especially rewarding for those who enjoy a more elegant, origin-led black tea.
Long OP1 Leaf with Classic Seasonal Uva Character
The OP1 grade denotes long, wiry, well-twisted leaves that infuse gradually and evenly. This creates a cup with poise, structure and a more measured release of flavour than smaller broken grades.
In Dyraaba’s high-altitude setting, the tea develops a distinctive Uva profile: bright in appearance, smooth on the palate and gently aromatic through the finish.
Mellow, Floral and Lightly Wine-Like
In the cup, this Uva loose leaf black tea brews to a clear, bright amber liquor with warmth and natural clarity. The flavour is medium-bodied and rounded, with a soft floral note and a subtle wine-like quality that lingers pleasantly.
It is an elegant black tea that feels polished from first sip to last, balancing brightness with depth rather than leaning too heavily in either direction.

A Versatile Morning or Afternoon Ceylon
Served black, Dyraaba OP1 shows its finest details: the floral lift, clean finish and distinctive Uva character. It is especially rewarding for those who enjoy elegant Ceylon teas without milk.
Add a modest splash and the cup becomes rounder and slightly fuller, making it equally suitable as a calm morning brew or a refined afternoon tea.
How to Brew Uva Dyraaba Estate OP1
Use freshly boiled water at 100°C and add 2 to 3g of leaf per cup, or roughly one teaspoon. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
A 3-minute infusion keeps the tea lighter and more floral. A 4-minute brew brings out greater body and depth. The long OP1 leaves release flavour gradually, so allow them the time to open properly.

Love this UVA which I mix with an Assam and a Darjeeling to make a lovely tea for anytime particularly with toast and marmalade.
Always very good service and tasty teas. I tried economising by buying from a supermarket but had to throw it away.
Pleasant easy drinking tea at any time of day. Will buy again!
Very nice, light yet floral and malty.
I have had a subscription to this tea for the past few years and it is consistently flavourful and delicate. It is lighter and more complex than your usual English Breakfast but still perfect for a morning cup and throughout the day. Highly recommended.
