Our Uva OP Sarnia-Plaiderie loose leaf black tea is a refined single-estate Ceylon with a rich dark-copper cup, softly spicy aroma and smooth, gently sweet finish. Grown in Sri Lanka’s celebrated Uva district, it is an elegant whole-leaf black tea with the aromatic depth to enjoy plain and enough warmth to take a small splash of milk beautifully.

Uva OP Sarnia-Plaiderie Loose Leaf Black Tea from Sri Lanka

Sarnia-Plaiderie is a distinctive Uva estate tea, prized for its aromatic character, bright infusion and polished single-origin profile. Search results for this specific tea consistently highlight its rich, aromatic Ceylon style and estate identity, making it a particularly strong choice for tea drinkers seeking something more individual than a standard black tea blend.

The whole Orange Pekoe leaf gives the cup a composed, elegant structure, allowing the natural character of Uva Ceylon tea to come through with clarity.

Soft Spice, Sweet Aroma and a Dark Copper Cup

In the cup, this Uva OP Sarnia-Plaiderie loose leaf black tea brews to a deep copper infusion with brightness at the edge and a fragrant, warming aroma. The flavour is smooth and softly spicy, with a gently sweet, aromatic finish that feels refined rather than forceful.

It is a tea with real afternoon appeal: expressive enough to savour slowly, yet balanced enough to return to often.

Whole-Leaf Uva OP with Distinctive Estate Character

The OP grade gives this tea a long, open whole-leaf style that produces a cleaner, more nuanced cup than faster-infusing broken grades. Comparable listings for Sarnia-Plaiderie emphasise its dark copper-toned leaf, aromatic quality and deep red infusion, supporting its position as a characterful estate Ceylon rather than an everyday generic black tea.

A Refined Uva Ceylon for Afternoon Drinking

Uva OP Sarnia-Plaiderie is especially rewarding when taken without milk, allowing its distinctive aromatic bouquet and softly spicy depth to remain clear. A little milk works well too, creating a warmer, rounder cup without overwhelming the tea’s estate character.

It is an excellent choice for those who enjoy single-origin Ceylon teas with fragrance, clarity and a more elegant finish.

How to Brew Uva OP Sarnia-Plaiderie

Use freshly boiled water at 100°C and add one generous teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes for a bright, aromatic cup with a smooth finish.

A slightly longer infusion will bring more body, though it is best not to over-steep if you want to preserve the tea’s natural sweetness and subtle Uva bouquet.

Enjoy plain for the clearest expression of the leaf, or add a small splash of milk for a softer result.

A lovely morning brew with plenty of flavour without the harsh tannin that is often found in breakfast teas

Very enjoyable tea

Very enjoyable tea. Good strength without being 'too strong'. Can be enjoyed with or without milk but I much preferred it with. Would buy aga3.

We have been drinking this tea, always from High Teas, for many many years. It has a great flavour, lovely colour and distinctive aroma.

Morning

The best morning cuppa. Like wine smell it first. It's the best way to wake your taste buds. Enjoy its floral quality and low tannin aroma. Don't make it strong. I discovered this style in Ceylon. If you're hooked on tannin you shouldn't be drinking this tea. If you need a strong tea in the morning you probably need coffee.
