Vanilla green tea is one of the most quietly satisfying flavoured green teas you can brew as a loose leaf — and one that has earned its place as a genuine everyday favourite. The base is a good quality green tea, unoxidised and full of the freshness that makes green tea so appealing: light, clean, and gently grassy with that characteristic brightness that no other tea quite replicates. To this, a smooth premium vanilla flavouring is added — carefully balanced so that the vanilla enhances rather than masks the leaf beneath it.

Brewing Note: Green tea rewards a little attention to temperature. For the best result, use water at around 75°C to 80°C rather than a full boil — boiling water can make green tea taste bitter and mute the delicate vanilla note. Allow one heaped teaspoon per cup and steep for 2 to 3 minutes, tasting as you go. If you prefer a stronger cup, use a little more leaf rather than steeping longer. This tea also makes an excellent cold brew: place a teaspoon or two in a jug of cold filtered water and leave overnight in the fridge. The result is a smooth, naturally sweet iced green tea with the vanilla coming through beautifully.
