Our Vietnam Black OP loose leaf tea is a smooth, aromatic Vietnamese black tea with warm reddish-amber liquor, whole Orange Pekoe leaf and a distinctive lightly spiced finish. Softer than many bold Assams or brisk Ceylons, it offers an elegant, satisfying cup that is easy to enjoy from morning through to the afternoon, with or without milk.
Vietnam Black OP Loose Leaf Tea with Smooth, Aromatic Character
Vietnam Black OP is a whole-leaf black tea made in the orthodox style, offering a cleaner and more refined cup than many stronger, more heavily blended everyday black teas. Its Orange Pekoe grade gives the leaf room to infuse gradually, producing a balanced liquor with clarity, smooth body and gentle natural warmth.
Vietnamese black teas of this type are often appreciated for their aromatic quality and subtle spiced edge, making them an appealing alternative to more familiar Chinese black tea styles.
Warm Amber Liquor with a Lightly Spiced Finish
In the cup, this Vietnam Black OP loose leaf tea brews to a clear reddish-amber infusion with an inviting, softly rounded body. The flavour is mild yet characterful, with a natural warmth, gentle aromatic lift and a lightly spiced finish that lingers pleasantly without becoming sharp.
It is satisfying without heaviness, making it a versatile black tea that feels equally at home as a calmer morning cup or a smooth mid-afternoon brew.
Orange Pekoe Whole Leaf from Vietnam
The Orange Pekoe grade indicates a whole, unbroken leaf style, allowing a slower and more even extraction in the cup. This helps preserve the tea’s naturally smooth character and gives the finished brew a more composed feel than smaller, faster-infusing black tea grades.
Competitor descriptions for similar Vietnamese OP teas consistently emphasise a mild, aromatic and gently spiced character, which aligns well with the profile of this product.

A Reliable, Characterful Everyday Black Tea
Vietnam Black OP is approachable enough for regular drinking, yet distinctive enough to feel more interesting than a standard breakfast blend. It suits those who enjoy black tea with natural smoothness and a little aromatic individuality.
Drink it plain to appreciate the warmth and lightly spiced character of the leaf, or add a small amount of milk for a softer, rounder cup.
How to Brew Vietnam Black OP
Use water at around 90°C to 95°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
A shorter 2 to 3-minute infusion gives a lighter, more delicate cup. A 4-minute brew develops fuller body and more of the tea’s natural aromatic depth.
This tea is particularly rewarding without milk, though it also takes a small splash comfortably if preferred.

Vietnam - Black OP
I am really enjoying the malty natural sweetness of this tea. It's excellent value at this price, better than many costing far more imho. Highly recommended.
