Winter Romance is a rooibos-based herbal blend that puts the warmth of a winter fireside into a single cup. Built around naturally sweet South African red bush, it layers apple and cinnamon with roasted coconut chips, chocolate chips, and a touch of juniper berry for a blend that is as comforting to smell as it is to drink.

Rooibos — grown in the Cederberg mountains of the Western Cape — produces a naturally smooth, amber-red liquor with a honey-like sweetness that has made it a beloved caffeine-free alternative for generations. As a base for a warming winter blend, it is close to ideal. Here, cinnamon provides a familiar spiced backbone, apple brings a gentle orchard sweetness, and the roasted coconut chips add a creamy, rounded richness that softens the whole cup beautifully. The chocolate chips — small but meaningful — lend a quiet, warming depth that tips Winter Romance into genuinely indulgent territory without ever feeling heavy.

Juniper berries offer a faint aromatic lift that keeps the blend from becoming too sweet, and the safflowers bring a vivid splash of colour to the dry leaf. Together the result is something that smells extraordinary before it even brews — warm spice, soft apple, a whisper of cocoa drifting up from the cup.

Ingredients: Rooibos, roasted coconut chips (coconut, sugar) (7%), chocolate chips (sugar, cocoa, emulsifier: soya lecithin), cinnamon (5%), flavourings, apple, juniper berries, safflowers. Contains soya.

Brewing Note: Winter Romance brews best with fully boiling water — pour at 100°C directly over the blend and steep for 7 to 10 minutes. A longer steep draws out the full warmth of the cinnamon and the deeper notes of coconut and chocolate; a shorter one gives something lighter and more apple-forward. Use one heaped teaspoon per mug as a starting point and adjust to taste. This blend also makes a surprisingly good cold brew: add two heaped teaspoons to cold water, leave in the refrigerator overnight, and serve over ice the following day for a completely different but equally rewarding cup.
