Yunnan Select A FOP is a distinctive black tea from southwest China, a province celebrated for producing smooth, full-flavoured teas with natural sweetness and depth. The dark, medium-long leaf is scattered with attractive bronze-coloured tips, reflecting careful plucking and a well-made Flowery Orange Pekoe grade.

This is a tea with genuine presence in the cup: warming, aromatic and gently full-bodied, yet softer and less astringent than many stronger black teas.

Spicy, Earthy and Naturally Sweet

Yunnan Select A FOP works beautifully as a morning black tea when you want flavour and body without too much briskness. It is equally rewarding later in the day, particularly when taken plain to appreciate the tea’s natural sweetness and aromatic depth.

Milk can be added comfortably, but the cleanest expression of the leaf comes through without it.

How to Brew Yunnan Select A FOP

Use water at around 95°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes.

A 3-minute brew gives a smoother, lighter cup with the natural sweetness more evident. A 4-minute infusion brings out fuller body, spice and earthy depth.

This tea is forgiving in the pot and can also give a worthwhile second infusion with a slightly longer steep.
