Darjeeling Margaret's Hope is a superb loose leaf black tea that captures the prized character of second flush Darjeeling at its peak. Sourced from one of the most famous tea gardens in the Himalayas, it offers a cup with depth, fragrance and the distinctive pungency that makes fine Darjeeling tea so sought after. The flavour is lively yet polished, bringing together elegance, body and a beautifully expressive aroma in every infusion.

The story behind Margaret's Hope adds to the romance of this remarkable estate. In the 1930s, the garden was renamed in memory of Margaret, the daughter of the owner, who fell in love with the tea garden and hoped to return one day. That sense of affection and heritage still clings to the estate, making this tea feel not only special in flavour but rich in tradition too.

The bushes at Margaret's Hope are almost entirely Chinese jat, helping to create the green-leafed, tippy appearance of the dry leaf and contributing to its superb fragrance in the cup. This gives the tea its distinctive personality and makes it a wonderful choice for those who appreciate origin-led teas with finesse and character. The ingredients in this tea are pure black tea, with nothing added, allowing the natural quality of the leaf and the celebrated style of this Darjeeling estate to shine through. For anyone looking for loose leaf Darjeeling tea, second flush black tea, premium Himalayan tea or a fragrant afternoon brew, Margaret's Hope offers heritage, aroma and elegance in every pot.

Darjeeling Margaret's Hope

This tea is far superior to anything available in supermarkets etc. I have been drinking it for some years and it remains on the whole very pleasant and refreshing. Recent batches have not been as good as earlier tea, but are still very good. I doubt you could find better at the price.

Lovely Darjeeling Margaret's Hope Tea

Darjeeling *Margaret's Hope* tea is exceedingly good, especially when mixed with a little Keemun *Huangshan* Orange Pekoe.

Darjeeling Tea

I have drunk Darjeeling tea for breakfast for many years trying several different estates and blends. But I always come back to Margaret’s Hope. Apart from the taste, which is excellent, it’s the story behind it. The quality of the service from High Teas also helps.

Always delicious

The post let us down with delivery but this was later rectified by High Teas. Margaret's Hope is a tea I regularly drink.

Use freshly boiled water (95–100°C) and steep 1 teaspoon of tea for 3–5 minutes, depending on your preferred strength. It pairs well with milk due to its malty character.
