HERBAL TEAS

Herbal loose leaf teas and infusions — known as tisanes — are made from herbs, flowers, fruits and spices rather than from the tea plant, offering a world of flavour that is almost entirely caffeine-free. Our collection ranges from the gentle floral calm of Egyptian chamomile to the bright clarity of peppermint and the warming spiced depth of a turmeric gold blend.

Beyond the Tea Plant

Herbal teas — more accurately called tisanes or infusions — are made from everything but the Camellia sinensis plant: flowers, leaves, roots, spices, fruits and seeds, each bringing its own character to the cup. That freedom from a single plant is what gives herbal infusions their extraordinary range. Where traditional tea is shaped by terroir and processing, herbal tea draws from the natural world more broadly — a chamomile field, a peppermint garden, a spice route. The result is a category that can feel gentle and floral one cup and warming and aromatic the next.

Flavour and Character

Three teas give a good sense of the range within this collection. Egyptian Chamomile Flowers is the gentlest: whole flowers producing a soft, honey-sweet floral infusion that has been valued for its calming character for centuries — a natural choice for an evening cup or a quiet moment in the day. Peppermint (cut) offers something completely different — the pure, bright coolness of peppermint leaves, clean and refreshing, with the kind of clarity that makes it one of the most reliably enjoyable infusions at any time of day. Turmeric Gold Herbal Tea brings a richer dimension: turmeric, cocoa shells, aniseed and vanilla combining to create a warming, naturally spiced cup that works beautifully on its own or as the base for a turmeric latte.

Brewing Herbal Teas

All three teas are best brewed with freshly boiled water. Egyptian Chamomile benefits from a slightly gentler temperature — around 90°C — and a steep of five to seven minutes to draw out its floral sweetness fully. Peppermint needs only three to four minutes; any longer and the cooling character can become overpowering. Turmeric Gold is wonderfully forgiving — steep for five minutes, then add warmed milk or plant-based milk if you want a proper turmeric latte. A small drizzle of honey works well in both the chamomile and the turmeric blend if you prefer a little extra sweetness.

Beyond these three, the collection extends to hibiscus, rooibos, honeybush, lavender blends and Ayurvedic-style infusions — a genuinely broad range of caffeine-free options for every time of day. Whether the appeal is calm, freshness, warmth or something more distinctive, there is a herbal tea here to suit it.
