ARTISAN
VIETNAM TEAS

Vietnam loose leaf teas are among the most exciting emerging origins in the speciality tea world — fresh, grassy green teas, elegant oolongs and a polished organic black, all from small artisan producers showing what the country is genuinely capable of. Our collection brings together three very different expressions: an authentic Vietnamese green tea, a floral oolong made using Taiwanese methods, and a golden-tipped organic black with hints of caramel.

Vietnam's Tea Heritage

Vietnam has one of Asia's oldest tea cultures, yet its finest teas have only begun to gain wider recognition in the European speciality market in recent decades. For years much Vietnamese tea disappeared into anonymous blends, but a growing number of skilled artisan producers are now showing what the country is genuinely capable of. What is emerging is a tea origin of real quality and variety — green teas with fresh, sweet character, oolongs of elegant refinement, and black teas with a softness and individuality of their own.

Flavour and Character

The three teas in this collection each show a different side of Vietnamese tea. Tan Cuong Hoangbinh Green Tea is the most immediately fresh: it opens with a slight brightness that quickly gives way to a deeper natural sweetness, making it a lively and rewarding cup for those who enjoy character as well as freshness in a green tea. Vietnam Tung Ting Oolong is produced near Bao Loc in Lam Dong province using Taiwanese methods, and it shows: a bright green cup, a sweet floral aroma and a smooth, lightly creamy finish that places it among the more elegant oolongs in the range. Vietnam Golden Tippy OP Organic rounds out the collection with a certified organic black tea that is gently floral, full-bodied and touched with hints of caramel — polished and distinctly Vietnamese.

Brewing Vietnam Teas

Green tea and oolong are best enjoyed without milk, where their freshness, floral notes and natural sweetness can come through clearly. For the Tan Cuong green tea, use water at around 75 to 80°C and steep for two to three minutes to preserve its delicacy. The Tung Ting Oolong suits a slightly higher temperature — around 85 to 90°C — and rewards multiple short infusions. The Golden Tippy black tea can be taken plain or with a small amount of milk depending on preference, and benefits from boiling water and a three to four minute steep.

Vietnam is an origin well worth exploring for anyone who already enjoys teas from China, Taiwan or Japan and wants to discover something less familiar. The quality here is genuine, and these three teas give a clear sense of the range and craftsmanship that Vietnamese tea is increasingly capable of.
