A superb tea which captures the pungent 2nd flush flavour at its peak. During the 1930's the tea garden was owned by Mr. Bagdon who lived in London but visited the tea garden regularly. He had two daughters. The younger daughter named Margaret; who when she first saw the tea garden fell in love with it hoped one day she would have an opportunity to return. Sadly she fell ill on board a ship during the return trip to England and died soon after. In her memory her father changed the garden's name to Margaret's Hope. It is believed that she still visits the estate bungalow from the western side coming through the main guest room and leaving from the study through the verandah to the tennis courts. Many guests have claimed to have felt and even seen her apparition gently looking over them as they sleep. The bushes at Margaret's Hope are almost entirely the Chinese Jat (genus) accounting for the green leafed tippy appearance of the resulting leaf and the superb fragrance.
Please note: In order to become more environmentally-friendly we no longer add large coloured labels to our tea packets. Simply peel off the small name label from the back of your packet to make it totally biodegradable! Gift tubes are as shown.

Darjeeling *Margaret's Hope* tea is exceedingly good, especially when mixed with a little Keemun *Huangshan* Orange Pekoe.
I have drunk Darjeeling tea for breakfast for many years trying several different estates and blends. But I always come back to Margaret’s Hope. Apart from the taste, which is excellent, it’s the story behind it. The quality of the service from High Teas also helps.
The post let us down with delivery but this was later rectified by High Teas. Margaret's Hope is a tea I regularly drink.
