Assam Hatibudi Smoky TGFOP

An unusual and delicious Assam with a light sweetness and a delicate smokiness. The teamakers at the Hatibudi tea factory from the Golaghat district employ a technique called 'Fu Soonga' ('Fu' means blow and 'Soonga' means pipe) whereby tea leaves are packed into young green bamboo tubes which are then placed near an open fire which gently imparts a sweet, smoky, delicious flavour to the leaves. The resulting cup is smooth and aromatic with a beautifully balanced smokiness and a dark amber liquor.

Ingredients:

Black tea

Lovely

Smells very smokey but is much more subtle making a delicious tea; I make a blend with a Darjeeling
